My Mom and Sister Ah Bong is in Heaven
On many occasion, I was troubled by this uncertianty, uncertain if my mom is in Heaven. I know, I should have faith in what my sister had told me that my mom had accepted Lord Jesus on the day she passed away. I prayed to Lord Jesus to forgive me for this doubts. My mother died of cancer about 9 years ago. I was not at my mom’s bedside when she passed away, I was at work and being in stress. My youngest Sister Laura told me that she had accepted Lord Jesus Christ as savior and I wasn’t sure of that, so I prayed to Lord Jesus once sometime back, I think couple of months, to reveal if my mother is in heaven or not.
For me, this is a pressing concern because I wanted to testified to my father that my mother is heaven and he really need to receive salvation if he wants to be with my mother. Apology, I can’t remember the exact date. I think one day in mid Feb 2009, Our Lord Jesus allow the Angels, once again to brought me to heaven, this time, the backyard of a mansion. The angel, (I see neither the face nor body) introduced me to a pretty young lady, I think she must be 27 year old. (I had forgotten what was the name mentioned to me). She held my left hand and brought me into the chicken coop.
She wore nice dress in bright green, looks very elegant on her. This reminds me of the olden days when we use to have this same things. The door was made of chicken coop wire mesh on wooden flame. I was in transformed body, in my youth, younger then her. Then she latches the door behind me. I felt very close to her like someone I knew; she resembles my eldest Sister and 2nd Sister. Distinctively, she has thicker lips (even upper and lower) that gave a broader sweet smile. The ground was of dry solid light brown soil but it is so clean that I could take off my pair of shoes and walk on it. No Chicken or duck droppings can be found on the ground. The air is still, no bad smells. Then, she leads me past two fruit trees and went to the 3rd one, she stretched her pair of hands into the leaves and plucked a purple fruit that looks like egg plant, three fists size. And, she happily hugged this purple fruit in her left arm and said to me “Come, I want to bring you to meet someone.”
My heart was beating faster a little bit because I felt that she was bringing me to someone very close to me, like my wife. Was she my wife? So we walk past the same 2 fruit trees (all are not very tall, about 2 times my height) and then turn right. Then, a woman stopped tending to the other fruit Tree and turn around. “Chim Mah!” I exclaimed. (We called her Chim Mah, my mother. In Hokkien, Chim Mah means Auntie. Those day, people don’t want the addressing to be confused, today I still called my father “Dee Chay” meaning 2nd Uncle) This is my mom before she was diagnosed with cancer in the early 50. She looked the way she was while being healthy. I was very happy to see my mother. She was smiling happily, unlike those days she suffered going through all the Chemotherapy.
(Addon contribution by Jean, 5th sister). At that time when she had this ailment, mom had a very strong will to live although she was in great pain and had told Jean that she wanted to be with all the children, grandchildren and she wanted to see her get married. Mom received salvation just two days before our Lord took her away. Jean had been cutting my mom’s hair once every three weeks. She teared in the memory of cutting mom’s hair as she could recalled that her hair felt lifeless, dry and coarse. She was very glad that she was able to gave her hair cut on Thursday so that she looked very neat, then following Saturday, she passed away. I think mom purposely gave up the will to live because she don’t want all of us to continue suffering the financial hardship, probably aware that we are struggling to meet this high cost of cancer treatment.
(Added note 090909) By the mercy and grace of Lord Jesus, my mom was taken to heaven with him that day to relieve hers and everybody’s suffering, 27th Oct 1999. Heaven is an awesome place, it was so clean, no sickness and the daylight was just nice, not too warm. Same feeling as when I was brought to the back garden of Heaven where there is prairie of grass. (The Place of Sanctuary) The same place that King David had visited as mentioned in Psalm. We didn’t talk much but happily look at each other, enjoying each others’ company. Then all 3 of us walked out of the chicken coop.
Closing the door behind and both of them held each other hand and signaled to me that they want to cook a meal. Then, it is time for me to go and I woke up. I was telling myself that I wished to stayed with my mom and sister forever, it was so peaceful and nice but Lord Jesus won’t allow me because there are much work to do in this world.
On 22/3/2009 after Church Service, I visited my father in Ang Mo Kio at around 2pm. My father is now age 82 and is still actively teaching singing in Community Centre. I asked him if he remembered my sister who died during World War 2? He said
“Her name is Ah Bong, during those days giving away and taking in children is very common. Because my cousin in Malaysia does not have children so my mother suggested that I gave this daughter away to them afterall I already have 3 daughters. Ah Bong rank number 4 in our family.” Ah Bong? This name does rings a bell in my mind. It is in fact, the name mentioned to me by the Angel and I forgotten when I woked up. My father continues. “During those days where are under Malaysia rule, we could travel in and out of Malaysia Freely. They stayed in Johore Bahru. My father said that this child given to them actually caused them to have quarrels very often. He did not know why. Sometimes if both couple have to work, they have to pay neighbor $10 to look after them. Those day $10 is a lot of money. Then, they cannot bear anymore and decided to return Ah Bong to me; I cannot reject them since she is my own daughter, right? Ah Bong was in very bad health during that time. One day when we fed her milk she passes out milk, her stomach could not digest. Then she had high fever, brought her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment. Then, she recovered for 3 days and then relapsed into high fever and pass away.” I asked my father “What was her age at that time when she died?” My Father replied “I think she was 5 at that time.”
I remembered once, we have to visit another relative on the other side of Johore Bahru. The only way to reach there was by boat, there was no roadway. And I was told that we could not bring any cloth there. So my mother wrapped the yards of cloth around my waist and hid under my baggy T-shirt to smuggle in. The Malaysian custom officers in petrol boat came near us and left us after received cigarette and some money from my father. Things have not change much. Then, I share with him that Lord Jesus allowed me to go to Heaven to visit my Mother’s mansion at the backyard. Ah Bong was with her, she is a pretty lady at age 27. Mother look like as she was in the early 50 at that time when she was not diagnosed with cancer, enjoying traveling. She is in the pink of health. I told my father that in Heaven, there is no sickness and the Chicken Coop that I went in is very very clean, there is no flies, no Chicken or duck droppings. For many years, every time he talked about mother he would cry. But this time, he didn’t cry but managed a hidden smile. He said “Ah Bong is a very hardworking and obedience child. She helped to cut grass for some richer neighbors to earn money and even tired from work, she still happily helps out with household chore. She always asks how I am.” With that I told my father that both mother and sister Ah Bong is waiting for him in Heaven. They are not suffering anymore, no sickness but happily in Heaven. So, I encouraged him to accept Lord Jesus so that our whole family can be together to eternality. My father did not answer me. Then, I said to him that all this while Ah Bong had been taking care of us without us knowing. “Hopefully, Ah Bong can appear in your dream to speak to you.” I said to my father. Then I went home.
Matt 6:20-21: “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” As I read this article again and again, tears of joy kept flowing. Wished that I could have spent longer time with my Mom and Sister. Perhaps have wonderful meal with them before I wake up.
