Consequences of not doing 100% job for God and fearing man.
Samuel, the Prophet had given the clear mission to King Saul, that is to utterly destroyed all the people, man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. In fact everything that is in the Cities of Amalekites.
1Samuel 15:1-6 “Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
1Samuel 15:7-26 “And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on. And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel? And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD. And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.”
King Saul had a great mission with the blessing from God but instead, he decided to do a 90% job by sparing King Agar and also let his people took spoil, sheep and oxen. What went wrong? What was the thought of King Saul? Is King Saul a good leader? Unfortunately, he failed to be a good leader. There was no control over his people, he failed to enforce God’s commandment and he spared King Agar’s life because of his fear of people.
See paragraph 1Samuel 15:24 “And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.”
Doing a mission as commanded by God’s requires absolute obedience. There is no room allowed for distractions or unspirit mindedness. Perhaps the people were saying to King Saul that he must be benevolent in order to be a good King. And perhaps, the people suggested to King Saul to keep best ram for God and with these ‘Good sacrifices” they thought God will be pleased. Unfortunately, that was the disastrous mistake committed by King Saul. Instead of fearing God by being Spirit minded, he had chosen to fear man.
Likewise in our daily walk with Holy Spirit. We maybe given a mission from God. It doesn’t matter if it is big or small. You’ll have the entire battle plan. But along the way, there are other Christians who aren’t Spirit minded. Seeking guidance from them maybe a grave mistake. They could only advice based on their past experience, or their logical thinking or with their academical knowledge and they want to impose onto you of their solution, rather then God’s given solution. It happened many times. We have to be steadfast on our faith, never let temptations of the unspirited minded Christian influence you or worst case scenario some obeyed the Human Authority. We have to be careful to ensure that we are God fearing always and with the help of our partner, the Holy Spirit we can complete any mission 100% for Kingdom of Heaven.
NO GOOD SACRIFICE CAN ATONE FOR THE SINS OF DISOBEYING GOD. Just like King Saul, God rejected his “Good Offerings”. In fact, this Sharing Portal is one of the various missions I embarked on. After it had been agreed upon in prayer. The unspirited man informed the other person and I received a call in middle of night, nearing 11pm, saying over my mobile with a cold steel voice,“You are trying to do the Web Site, NOT APPROVED!” Without sparing some time to neither find out the purpose of this Web portal mission nor provide with reasons as to why this ESharing Portal should not be published, he disapproved of it. Where is the Fruit of Love and caring? In the testimony, I already mentioned that all the my web sites, I already pledged to be under our Lord Jesus’ care and blessing when I was reborn on 2nd Dec 2007. I am so glad that I had chosen to fear God instead of the man. I prayed for blessing 0f 30,000 readerships in 6 months after launch, but was blessed with 42,000 readership. Today, it reached readership of more than 52,000 (as of 5/1/2011 more than 168,000). We also received many encouraging feedback. We have Christians saying that they want to attend Church more often to get closer to Lord Jesus after reading the posted articles. The greatest blessing that I personally received is from Sister Laura, she published a review on “Heaven is So Real by Choo Thomas”. I borrowed the book and while reading, many revelations came showering onto me, especially the revelation of my wife’s dream, about Salvation for my family. Without this ESharing Portal, what my life would have been? Definitely I can’t reach out and sharing the blessing with 50,000 people 24/7. Hallelujah Praise the Lord! I really thank and sing praises to everyone who reads and support this portal. Let’s be a cheerful GIVERS of blessings and do this spiritual battle together to win more souls as a body of Christ. Warming the hearts of those who has been away from Church. Sign up as Authors and wanting to share your blessings. God bless you. There are others, like words of prophecy written in parables already come to past. The Church emphasized a lot on DNA of Lord Jesus. If one can’t write parables, at least understand the parables in the Bible.
Here are some facts that I had discovered, Christians who don’t do 100% job for any God’s mission or task will continue to decline in percentage of job completion because their mindset is ambivalent, always giving in to man and also easily distracted. They will do things halfway and jump onto something else, which they thought, is more important. Thus, never complete a single task given to them. Worst off, these temptations of trying to do something else “More Important” is the work of the Devil, because the Devil wants to destroy all God’s work. It will come to a time where the Christian will ended up doing ZERO God’s work. Ambivalent minded people cannot do God’s work!!!
Whereas, those Christians who are spirit minded, letting the Holy Spirit takes full control of their actions are very focus and always complete God’s mission 100%. The faithful one will receive their reward from Kingdom of Heaven two, three or even five folds, Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
Addon notes 5/1/2011
“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it; lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all those seeing begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish” Luke 14:28-30
There are two costs that needed to be counted before commencing any work; monetary cost and time cost. Time is the most important factor. You can have alot of money but if you do not have time, you can’t finish any job as in this physical world we are limited by time! Can you stop the earth from spinning like Superman? No You Can’t!
Pray for Gift of Wisdom and Discernment to be able to discern between whether the mission is from God or not.
